Possible Causes
Intermittent NTC sensor connection, Corrupted control software, Faulty ADC (analog-to-digital converter) on PCB, Electrical noise from failing component
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before inspecting wiring or boards.
- Check sensor connections: Reseat all temperature sensor connectors at the main PCB and ensure good contact.
- Inspect harness routing: Ensure sensor wires are not routed tightly alongside compressor or fan power cables, which can induce noise.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes to reset the microcontroller. Observe if readings stabilize after restart.
- Compare with thermometer: Place an accurate freezer thermometer inside and compare to the display. If the difference is large and persistent, suspect sensor or board.
- Replace suspect sensor: If one sensor reading is clearly erratic, replace that NTC.
- Board replacement: If all sensors are stable but display remains erratic, the main PCB may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
