Possible Causes
Failed condenser fan motor, Obstructed fan blades by dust or debris, Faulty fan wiring or connector, Defective main control board fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before working near the compressor and fan.
- Access condenser fan: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the condenser coil and fan assembly.
- Check for obstruction: Spin the fan blades by hand. Remove any dust, plastic, or insulation blocking movement. The fan should spin freely.
- Test motor: Inspect the fan motor for overheating signs or burnt smell. With power disconnected, measure motor winding resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan connector is firmly seated on the harness and there are no damaged wires.
- Replace fan motor: If the motor is defective, install a Bauknecht-compatible condenser fan motor. Transfer any mounting brackets and fan blade as needed.
- Board diagnosis: If the fan motor is good but never receives voltage when the compressor runs, the main control board may not be driving it. This requires board replacement by a technician.
