Possible Causes

Refrigerant leak in evaporator or piping, Partially blocked capillary tube, Inefficient compressor, Severely clogged condenser coil reducing heat rejection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning or inspecting the rear components. Refrigerant work must only be done by certified technicians.

  • Clean condenser: Pull the freezer away from the wall. Vacuum and brush the condenser coil thoroughly to restore airflow.
  • Check door sealing: Inspect the door gasket for gaps or tears that could cause warm air ingress and overload the system.
  • Monitor compressor and temperatures: After cleaning, run the freezer for several hours. If the compressor runs continuously and the evaporator only partially frosts or stays warm, there may be a sealed-system issue.
  • Look for oil stains: Oil spots on tubing or around joints can indicate a refrigerant leak.
  • Do not attempt DIY refrigerant repair: If a leak or internal blockage is suspected, contact a qualified refrigeration technician. They can pressure-test, repair leaks, evacuate, and recharge the system according to Bauknecht specifications.
