Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main PCB, Shorted temperature sensor causing low reading, Faulty control algorithm in PCB, Incorrect sensor placement touching evaporator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or control boards.
- Verify setpoint: Confirm the temperature setting is not at the coldest level or in Super Freeze mode.
- Check sensor placement: Ensure the freezer NTC sensor is correctly clipped in its holder and not directly touching the evaporator coil, which can cause falsely low readings.
- Compare with thermometer: Place a separate thermometer inside to confirm actual temperature.
- Test sensor: Measure the NTC resistance and compare to spec. Replace if out of range.
- Control board: If the sensor is correct but the compressor never cycles off, the main PCB relay may be stuck closed. Board replacement is required and should be done by a technician.
