Possible Causes
Partially blocked drain hole, Drain tube not seated in pan, Excessive warm air entering due to door seal leak, Defrost water refreezing before draining
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer and protect the floor from water.
- Manual defrost: Remove all food and drawers. Leave the door open until all ice melts, using towels to absorb water.
- Clear drain: After ice removal, locate and clear the drain hole with warm water and a flexible cleaner as described in the drain blockage entry.
- Check drain pan alignment: Ensure the drain tube correctly empties into the pan above the compressor.
- Inspect door gasket: Replace if damaged to reduce warm, moist air entering and overloading the defrost system.
