Possible Causes
Failed defrost heater, Defective defrost thermostat or sensor, Faulty defrost control on main PCB, Broken wiring in defrost circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer and be cautious of sharp metal fins.
- Manual defrost first: Remove drawers and rear panel, then allow all ice to melt completely. Use towels to collect water.
- Test heater and thermostat: With components exposed, test continuity of the defrost heater and thermostat. Replace any open components with Bauknecht-compatible parts.
- Inspect wiring: Check for broken or burnt wires in the defrost circuit.
- Control board: If heater and thermostat are good but defrost never occurs, the main PCB defrost control may be faulty and require replacement by a technician.
