Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor, Shorted NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
Steps:
- Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes and reconnect. If E1 returns, proceed.
- Locate the freezer NTC sensor: On many Beko freezers, the NTC is clipped to the evaporator or mounted behind an internal liner cover in the freezer compartment.
- Visual inspection:
- Look for broken or pinched wires leading to the sensor.
- Check for heavy ice build-up around the sensor; defrost the unit fully (24 hours with doors open and towels) and see if the code clears.
- Sensor replacement:
- Remove the inner panel covering the evaporator (if accessible).
- Unclip the NTC sensor from its holder and disconnect its plug from the wiring harness.
- Install a genuine Beko replacement NTC sensor, routing the wires as originally.
- If a new sensor does not clear E1, the main control board may have a faulty sensor input and should be tested/replaced by a technician.
