Possible Causes
Defective evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from evaporator, Broken sensor wiring, Faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing the evaporator area.
Steps:
- Manual defrost: Turn off and unplug the freezer. Leave doors open for 24 hours with towels to catch melt water. Do not use sharp tools or heat guns.
- Access evaporator: Remove the rear internal panel in the freezer compartment to expose the evaporator coil (if accessible on your model).
- Check sensor position: Ensure the defrost/evaporator sensor is clipped firmly to the evaporator tubing or bracket. Re-clip if loose.
- Inspect wiring: Look for broken or corroded wires leading from the sensor to the harness.
- Replace sensor: Disconnect the old sensor and install a new Beko evaporator/defrost NTC sensor, routing wires away from sharp edges.
- If E3 remains after replacement, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly and should be tested by a technician.
