Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstructing fan blades, Damaged fan wiring, Faulty main control board fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the fan.
Steps:
- Listen for fan: After closing the door switch (press it with your finger) and with the unit powered, you should normally hear the fan. If silent or noisy, suspect a fault.
- Check for ice obstruction: Heavy frost around the fan can stop it. Fully defrost the freezer for 24 hours and see if E6 clears.
- Access fan: Remove the internal rear panel in the freezer to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
- Inspect fan:
- Check that the blades spin freely by hand.
- Look for broken blades or ice build-up.
- Inspect wiring and connector to the fan motor.
- Replace fan motor: If the motor is seized or does not run even when supplied (test by a qualified person), replace it with a genuine Beko evaporator fan motor.
- If a new fan does not resolve E6, the main control board may not be powering the fan correctly and should be checked by a technician.
