Possible Causes
Faulty door switch, Misaligned door magnet (on reed switch models), Broken switch wiring, Faulty main control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing switch components.
Steps:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket is not preventing the switch from being pressed.
- Locate door switch: Typically found in the door frame or as a plunger switch at the top/side of the cabinet.
- Test switch:
- Press the switch manually; the interior light should turn off. If it stays on, the switch may be faulty.
- On magnetic reed switch models, ensure the door magnet is present and aligned.
- Replace switch: Pry out or unscrew the switch, disconnect the wires, and install a new genuine Beko door switch or reed sensor.
- If E8 remains after switch replacement, the main control board door input circuit may be defective and needs professional diagnosis.
