Possible Causes

Dirty condenser coils, Faulty evaporator fan motor, Low refrigerant charge due to leak, Blocked capillary tube or filter drier

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before cleaning or removing panels.

Steps:

  • Check temperature setting: Ensure the thermostat or digital setting is at the recommended -18°C.
  • Clean condenser: Pull the freezer away from the wall and gently vacuum or brush dust from the condenser coils at the back or underneath.
  • Check door seal: Inspect the gasket for gaps or damage. Close the door on a sheet of paper; it should grip firmly all around.
  • Listen for fan: With the door switch pressed, listen for the evaporator fan. If silent, follow fan motor diagnostics and replace if faulty.
  • If the compressor runs continuously, condenser is clean, fan works, but cooling is still weak and frost pattern on the evaporator is uneven or limited to a small area, there may be a sealed system issue (refrigerant leak or blockage). This must be repaired by a certified refrigeration technician.
