Possible Causes
Failed defrost heater, Faulty defrost thermostat/thermal fuse, Defective defrost sensor, Main control board not initiating defrost
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing the evaporator and electrical components.
Steps:
- Manual defrost: Defrost the freezer completely to restore airflow temporarily.
- Access evaporator: Remove the internal rear panel to expose the evaporator coil and defrost components.
- Check heater and thermostat: Visually inspect for burnt heater elements or damaged thermostats. Use a multimeter (if competent) to test continuity of the heater and defrost thermostat.
- Replace faulty parts: Install genuine Beko defrost heater and/or thermostat if open-circuit.
- If all defrost components test good, the defrost sensor or main control board may be at fault and should be diagnosed by a technician.
