Possible Causes
Blocked or frozen defrost drain, Misaligned evaporator cover, Door gasket leak allowing moist air in, Cabinet liner crack
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before defrosting.
Steps:
- Remove ice: Take out drawers and gently remove loose ice. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
- Full defrost: Leave the door open for 24 hours with towels to melt all ice, especially around the rear panel.
- Clear drain: Access and clear the defrost drain hole and tube as described in the drain blockage procedure.
- Check door seal: Inspect the gasket for gaps, tears, or dirt. Clean with warm soapy water and replace if damaged.
