Possible Causes
Control stuck in defrost cycle, Faulty defrost sensor feedback, Main PCB logic fault, Defrost relay stuck closed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing internal components.
Checks:
- 1. Wait cycle out: Some Belling models briefly show dF during normal automatic defrost. If it clears within 30–60 minutes and cooling resumes, no fault is present.
- 2. If stuck: If dF remains for several hours and the freezer warms, unplug the unit for 10–15 minutes to reset the control.
- 3. Sensor check: Inspect and test the defrost sensor/thermostat as described in the E4 scenario. Incorrect feedback can keep the unit in defrost.
- 4. PCB/relay: If the heater remains powered or the compressor is not commanded on after reset, the defrost relay or PCB logic may be faulty. Replace the main control PCB.
Warning: Do not bypass defrost safety devices or run the heater continuously.
