Possible Causes

Loose data cable between display PCB and main control PCB, Oxidized or damaged connector, Faulty display PCB, Faulty main control PCB communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the freezer from the mains before removing any control panels.

Troubleshooting:

  • 1. Power cycle: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E6 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient communication error.
  • 2. Access control area: Remove the top/front fascia or door control housing to expose the display PCB and wiring harness.
  • 3. Check harness: Locate the multi-core cable linking the display PCB to the main control PCB (often at the rear or base). Reseat both ends, ensuring they are fully latched.
  • 4. Inspect for damage: Look for pinched or cut cables, especially where they pass through the cabinet. Replace the harness if insulation is damaged.
  • 5. PCB inspection: Check for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burnt components on the display PCB. If present, replace the display PCB.
  • 6. Main PCB: If the harness and display PCB are good but E6 persists, the main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.

Note: Handle PCBs by the edges and avoid static discharge by grounding yourself before touching components.
