How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before defrosting or removing panels.
Steps:
- 1. Manual defrost: Remove food to a cool box. Leave the door open and allow all ice to melt. Use towels to absorb water. Do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
- 2. Check door gasket: Inspect the gasket for splits, warping, or dirt. Clean with warm soapy water and dry. Replace the gasket if it does not seal evenly.
- 3. Defrost system: After defrosting, access the evaporator and test the defrost heater and thermostat as described in E4/E8. Replace faulty components.
- 4. Usage habits: Minimize door openings and avoid placing hot or uncovered moist food inside.
