Possible Causes
Mechanical thermostat contacts welded closed, Shorted temperature sensor causing false warm reading, Main PCB output relay stuck on, Fast-freeze mode permanently engaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the control housing.
Steps:
- 1. Check settings: Ensure fast-freeze is off and the temperature is set to around -18°C.
- 2. Mechanical thermostat: If fitted, remove the control knob and housing, then test the thermostat for switching. Replace if it remains closed regardless of temperature.
- 3. Electronic sensor: Test the cabinet NTC sensor for correct resistance. Replace if shorted or out of range.
- 4. PCB relay: If the compressor continues to run even when the control should be off, the relay may be stuck. Replace the main control PCB.
