Possible Causes

Blocked defrost drain hole behind evaporator, Cracked or displaced drain tube at rear, Ice blocking drain channel, Door gasket allowing warm air and condensation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing internal panels.

Steps:

  • 1. Locate drain: Remove the internal rear panel to expose the evaporator. At the bottom, locate the defrost drain hole.
  • 2. Clear blockage: Use warm water and a flexible plastic probe or pipe cleaner to clear ice and debris from the drain hole. Do not use metal objects that can puncture the liner.
  • 3. Rear drain tube: At the back of the freezer, locate the drain tube leading to the drip tray above the compressor. Ensure it is correctly seated and not kinked or blocked.
  • 4. Clean drip tray: Empty and clean the drip tray if overflowing.
  • 5. Check door seal: Ensure the door gasket seals properly to reduce excess condensation.
