Steps:

• 1. Listen for fan operation: With the door switch held closed (or taped), plug in briefly and listen for the evaporator fan. If silent or noisy, proceed with inspection (then unplug again).
• 2. Access the fan: Remove the interior rear panel to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
• 3. Check for ice or obstructions: Look for ice buildup around the fan shroud or blades. If present, fully defrost the area and ensure the drain is clear to prevent recurrence.
• 4. Inspect wiring and connector: Ensure the fan plug is firmly seated and wires are not damaged.
• 5. Test fan motor: With the fan disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If you have the skills and safety equipment, you can briefly power the fan with the correct voltage to confirm operation.
• 6. Replace fan if defective: Install a new Bomann-compatible evaporator fan motor, transferring the fan blade if necessary. Ensure correct rotation direction and secure mounting.
• 7. Check control board: If the fan tests good but does not receive power during operation, the main control board or fan driver may be faulty and require replacement.
