Possible Causes

Loose or oxidized ribbon cable between user interface and main board, Damaged touch control PCB, Moisture ingress in control panel, Faulty main control module communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.

Procedure:

  • Power reset: Unplug the freezer for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If E05 clears temporarily, the issue may be intermittent connection or moisture.
  • Access control panel: Remove the trim and screws securing the display/control panel (often at the top front of the freezer door or cabinet).
  • Inspect connectors: Carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable or wiring harness between the user interface and main control board. Look for bent pins, corrosion, or signs of moisture.
  • Dry moisture: If condensation or liquid is present, gently dry the area with a soft cloth and allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
  • Check for damage: Examine the user interface PCB for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or physical damage.
  • Replace faulty part: If the user interface board is damaged, replace it with a Bosch-compatible control panel. If the interface looks fine but E05 persists, the main control module may need replacement.

Note: Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth instead to prevent future moisture damage.
