Possible Causes
Failed condenser fan motor (on models with separate condenser fan), Blocked condenser coils with dust, Restricted ventilation around appliance, Faulty main control board fan output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working at the rear of the freezer.
Steps:
- Check installation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the freezer (typically at least a few centimeters at sides, rear, and top) for proper ventilation.
- Inspect condenser: Pull the unit away from the wall. Remove the lower rear cover to access the condenser coils and fan (if fitted).
- Clean condenser: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser coils and fan blades. Do not bend the fins.
- Test fan operation: With the unit reconnected (only if safe and with covers in place), listen for the condenser fan running when the compressor is on. If it never runs, unplug and test the fan motor for continuity.
- Replace fan motor: If the motor is open or seized, install a Bosch-compatible condenser fan motor.
- Control board check: If the fan motor is good but not powered, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
Note: Overheating due to poor ventilation can shorten compressor life. Always maintain clear airflow around the appliance.
