Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main control board keeping compressor on, Shorted temperature sensor reading too warm, Incorrect sensor installed, Control module logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing control electronics.
Steps:
- Verify temperature: Use a thermometer to confirm actual freezer temperature. If it is far below the setpoint, there is an overcooling issue.
- Check settings: Ensure the set temperature is not accidentally set to the lowest possible value or SuperFreeze left on.
- Inspect sensor: Test the freezer NTC sensor resistance and compare to specifications. Replace if readings are incorrect.
- Control board inspection: If the sensor is correct, the compressor relay on the main board may be stuck closed. Inspect for welded relay contacts or burn marks.
- Replace control module: If the relay is faulty or the board is damaged, replace the main control module.
Tip: Extremely low temperatures can damage some food items and increase energy consumption; resolve promptly.
