Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain hole, Frozen drain tube, Cracked drain pan, Excessive frost causing overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before defrosting or working near water.
Steps:
- Locate drain: Inside the freezer, remove drawers and the rear panel to find the defrost drain hole beneath the evaporator.
- Clear blockage: Use warm water and a plastic tube or turkey baster to flush the drain until water flows freely to the rear drip tray.
- Check rear drain tube: From the back, ensure the drain tube leading to the drip tray is not kinked or frozen. Thaw gently with warm water if needed.
- Inspect drip tray: Verify that the tray above the compressor is not cracked or overflowing.
