Freezer displays AL12; temperature display may flash and unit may not reach set temperature

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing any external or internal sensor wiring.

Steps:

• Locate ambient sensor: On some Brandt models, an ambient sensor is located near the condenser or behind a grille on the cabinet.
• Inspect sensor: Check for physical damage, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to Brandt's NTC chart. Replace if out of specification.
• Check wiring: Follow the sensor leads to the control board, ensuring no pinched or broken sections.
• If sensor and wiring are fine: Replace the main control board, as it may be misinterpreting the ambient reading.
