• Inspect start relay/PTC: Remove the plastic cover on the compressor terminals. Check the start relay/PTC module for burn marks, rattling pieces inside, or melted plastic.
• Test and replace: If the relay/PTC is visibly damaged or rattles when shaken, replace it with a Bush-compatible compressor start relay/PTC matched to your compressor model.
• Check overload protector: Ensure the overload device is firmly attached and not cracked or burnt. Replace if suspect.
• Reassemble and test: Refit the terminal cover and rear panel, plug the freezer back in, and monitor if the compressor starts smoothly and E4 clears.

If the new start components do not resolve the issue, the compressor itself may be mechanically seized or have internal electrical faults, requiring professional sealed-system service or compressor replacement.
