Bush freezer shows E9 and may beep continuously; temperature may be extremely high or low compared to the set point.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels. Avoid leaving food inside if temperatures are unsafe.
E9 can indicate that the measured temperature is outside the safe operating range or that the control cannot interpret the sensor correctly.
- Verify actual temperature: Place a separate freezer thermometer inside and compare to the display reading. If the difference is large, suspect a sensor or control issue.
- Check door seal and usage: Ensure the door is closing fully and not being left open. Clear any obstructions and check the gasket for damage.
- Inspect cabinet sensor: Access the cabinet NTC sensor (see E1 procedure) and check for secure mounting and intact wiring.
- Test sensor resistance: With the freezer unplugged, measure the sensor resistance and compare to expected values at the measured temperature. Replace the cabinet NTC temperature sensor if readings are abnormal.
- Power reset: After any repair, unplug the freezer for 10 minutes, then reconnect to clear the alarm state.
If the sensor is correct and the freezer is actually at the right temperature but E9 persists, the main control PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be evaluated or replaced by a technician.
