Possible Causes
Warped or torn door gasket, Bent door, Loose or misadjusted hinges on Bush upright freezer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before adjusting hinges to avoid accidental fan or light operation.
- Inspect gasket: Look for tears, hardened sections, or areas where the gasket does not touch the cabinet. Warm the gasket gently with a hair dryer to soften and reshape minor distortions.
- Adjust hinges: Loosen the hinge screws slightly and lift or shift the door so it aligns evenly with the cabinet, then retighten.
- Replace gasket: If the gasket is damaged, remove it from the door channel and fit a new door gasket designed for your Bush model. Press it firmly into the channel all around.
After adjustment or replacement, close the door on a strip of paper at several points to confirm a good seal.
