Possible Causes
Blocked condensate drain hole, Cracked defrost drain tube, Defrost water tray misaligned above compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer and mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.
- Locate drain: On frost-free Bush freezers, there is usually a small drain hole at the bottom of the evaporator area leading to a tube and tray above the compressor.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or flexible plastic rod to gently clear the drain hole. Flush with a small amount of warm water using a turkey baster or syringe.
- Check drain tube and tray: Access the rear and inspect the drain tube for kinks or cracks. Ensure the defrost drain tray is correctly seated on top of the compressor and not overflowing.
- Level the appliance: Make sure the freezer is level so water flows correctly to the drain.
If leaks continue, the drain system may be damaged and parts such as the drain tube or tray may need replacement.
