Possible Causes
Loose or damaged wire harness between UI and main control board, Failed main control board, Failed user interface board, Corroded or oxidized connector pins
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer or switch off the dedicated circuit breaker before removing any panels.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then restore power and check if the CF code clears. Sometimes a transient communication glitch is resolved by a reset.
- Inspect door UI harness: If your Café freezer has a door-mounted display, open the door and remove the trim or cover behind the display (usually held by screws). Check the ribbon cable or harness for pinched, cut, or loose connections. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Check main control board connections: Access the main control board (typically behind a rear lower access panel). Verify that the harness going to the UI is fully seated and not damaged. Look for burnt spots or corrosion on the board and connectors.
- Test continuity: With power still disconnected, use a multimeter to check continuity of the communication harness between the UI and main board. Replace the harness if open or intermittent.
- If CF persists: If wiring is intact, the fault is usually in the main control board or the user interface board. Replacement of one or both boards is recommended; this is often best handled by a qualified technician due to programming and ESD precautions.
