Possible Causes
Freezer thermistor failure, Damper or airflow control issue, Main control board freezer output fault, Wiring harness damage in freezer zone
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing panels or handling wiring.
- Check airflow: Ensure vents inside the freezer are not blocked by food items. Blocked vents can cause uneven temperatures and trigger faults.
- Test freezer thermistor: Access and measure the freezer thermistor resistance at a known temperature. Replace if out of specification.
- Inspect damper (if shared system): On some Café models that share cooling with a refrigerator section, a damper controls airflow. Verify it opens and closes freely and is not obstructed by ice.
- Control board: If sensors and airflow components are good, the main control board may not be regulating the freezer zone correctly and may need replacement.
