Possible Causes
Door left open or frequently opened, Heavy warm food load recently added, Evaporator fan not running, Sealed system or compressor performance issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Most checks can be done with power on; keep hands clear of moving fans and do not touch exposed wiring.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closing and the gasket is sealing all around. Correct any obstructions or misaligned bins.
- Allow recovery time: If you recently loaded a large amount of unfrozen food, allow 24 hours for the freezer to pull down to set temperature. Avoid opening the door frequently during this period.
- Verify fan operation: With the door open, press and hold the door switch to simulate a closed door. Listen for the evaporator fan running inside the freezer. If silent, the fan motor or its wiring may be faulty.
- Check condenser coils: Pull the unit out and inspect the condenser coils (underneath or at the back). Clean dust and lint with a brush and vacuum to improve cooling efficiency.
- Monitor temperature: Place a thermometer inside and check after several hours. If temperature remains high despite good airflow and clean coils, a sealed system or compressor issue may exist and requires a professional technician.
