Possible Causes
Evaporator fan not running or running slowly, Ice blockage in air ducts, Mispositioned shelves blocking vents, Damaged or misaligned air baffles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing interior panels.
- Check for blocked vents: Ensure food packages are not blocking the air vents on the back or sides of the freezer. Rearrange items to allow free airflow.
- Test evaporator fan: With the door open, press the door switch and listen for the fan. If it is not running or is very noisy, remove the rear interior panel and inspect the fan. Replace the evaporator fan motor if seized or damaged.
- Look for ice in ducts: Ice buildup in air channels can restrict airflow. Defrost the unit completely by unplugging and leaving doors open for 24–48 hours, then correct any door gasket or defrost issues that caused the ice.
- Inspect air baffles: Some Café freezers use adjustable baffles. Make sure they are not broken or stuck in a closed position.
