Safety first: Unplug the freezer and pull it away from the wall before accessing the rear. Do not attempt sealed system repairs without proper training.

• Verify power: Confirm the outlet has power by plugging in a lamp or tester. Check the circuit breaker and reset if tripped.
• Listen for activity: With power restored, listen for any humming or clicking from the compressor area. Repeated clicking can indicate a bad start relay.
• Inspect start relay/overload: Unplug the unit, remove the rear lower panel, and locate the start device on the side of the compressor. Remove it and inspect for burn marks or rattling pieces. Replace with a Café-compatible start relay/overload if damaged.
• Check compressor windings: With the start device removed and power off, measure resistance between the compressor terminals. Open windings or direct shorts to ground indicate a failed compressor, which requires professional replacement.
• Control board check: If the compressor and start device test good but never receive power, the main control board relay may be faulty and require replacement.
