Possible Causes

Defective cabinet NTC sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged door harness (for sensors routed through door), Faulty main control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing any covers or touching wiring.

  • Locate the cabinet sensor: On Candy freezers, the cabinet or freezer temperature NTC is usually behind a small plastic cover on the side wall or ceiling of the compartment.
  • Access the sensor: Remove baskets and shelves as needed. Gently pry off the sensor cover and pull the sensor head out slightly to access the connector.
  • Visual inspection: Check for moisture ingress, corrosion on the connector pins, or damaged insulation on the sensor leads.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to expected NTC values (commonly 4–10 kΩ at 20–25°C). A reading of open circuit or near 0 Ω indicates failure.
  • Check wiring back to PCB: If the sensor tests good, inspect and test continuity of the wiring harness from the sensor to the main control board located usually at the rear or in the top control housing.
  • Replace faulty sensor: Install a new Candy-compatible cabinet NTC sensor if the original is out of spec. Route the cable as originally installed and refit the cover.
  • Power up and verify: Plug the freezer back in. Allow several minutes for the control to read the new sensor and confirm that E03 disappears.

Warning: Avoid drilling or screwing into the cabinet walls; you may puncture refrigerant lines. If wiring and sensor are good but the error persists, the main control board likely requires replacement by a professional.
