Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before touching the control board.
- Access the main control board: On many Candy freezers, the main PCB is located at the rear behind a metal or plastic cover, or in the top control housing.
- Inspect wiring: Check that the mains input connector and all harnesses are firmly seated. Look for signs of overheating, melted plastic, or discoloration.
- Visual PCB inspection: Remove the PCB cover and inspect for bulging capacitors, burnt resistors, or cracked solder joints, especially around the power supply section.
- Check supply voltage: With the unit unplugged, you can only visually inspect. Live voltage checks should only be done by trained personnel. If obvious damage is present, the board should be replaced.
- Replace the main PCB: If E06 persists and there are signs of board failure, install a new Candy-compatible main control board, transferring any configuration jumpers as per service documentation.
- Reassemble and test: Refit covers, plug the freezer back in, and verify that it powers up normally and E06 is cleared.
Warning: The main control board carries dangerous mains voltage. If you are not experienced with electronics repair, do not attempt live testing; call a professional.
