Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before working at the rear or base of the appliance.
- Locate the condenser and fan: On Candy freezers with a condenser fan, it is usually located at the rear near the compressor or underneath the cabinet.
- Clean the condenser: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and debris from the condenser coils. Blocked coils can cause overheating and trigger E08.
- Inspect the fan: Check that the fan blades are not obstructed by dust, cable ties, or insulation. Spin the blades by hand to ensure free movement.
- Test the fan motor: With the freezer unplugged, disconnect the fan connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit suggests a failed motor.
- Check wiring and connectors: Ensure the fan harness is intact and firmly connected to the main control board.
- Replace faulty fan: If the motor is defective, install a new Candy-compatible condenser fan motor, ensuring correct orientation and secure mounting.
- Reassemble and test: Refit any covers, plug the freezer back in, and verify that the fan runs when the compressor is operating and that E08 clears.
Warning: Do not bend or puncture condenser tubing. If the fan and condenser are fine but E08 persists, the main control board may require professional diagnosis.
