Possible Causes

Faulty door switch or reed sensor, Misaligned door magnet, Shorted alarm input on main PCB, Damaged wiring in door harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the freezer from mains power before accessing switches or control boards.

  • Check door closure: Ensure the Candy freezer door closes fully and the gasket is not obstructing the door from latching.
  • Locate the door switch or reed sensor: It may be a mechanical plunger switch in the frame or a magnetic reed sensor hidden in the cabinet with a magnet in the door.
  • Test the switch: For a plunger switch, press it in and out; you should hear a click. Remove it from the frame and test continuity with a multimeter while actuating it. Replace if it does not change state.
  • Check magnet alignment: For magnetic sensors, ensure the door magnet is present and aligned with the sensor area. If the magnet has fallen out or shifted, refit or replace it.
  • Inspect wiring: Examine the harness from the switch/sensor to the control board for damage or loose connectors.
  • Replace faulty components: Install a new Candy-compatible door switch or magnet if defective.
  • Power up and verify: Plug the freezer back in and confirm that the alarm and E10 clear when the door is closed.

Warning: Do not tape over or permanently bypass the door switch; it may control interior lighting and safety functions.
