Possible Causes

Short between sensor lines in harness, Water ingress in sensor connectors, Damaged multi-core sensor cable, Faulty sensor input circuitry on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before inspecting wiring or sensors.

  • Identify all sensors: Candy freezers typically have cabinet, evaporator, and sometimes ambient NTC sensors. Locate each sensor and its connector.
  • Inspect harness routing: Follow the sensor harness from the cabinet to the main control board, looking for crushed, pinched, or abraded sections.
  • Disconnect sensors one by one: With power off, unplug one sensor at a time and check for signs of moisture or corrosion. Dry and clean connectors as needed.
  • Test resistance of each sensor: Measure each NTC individually at room temperature and compare to expected values. Replace any that are out of range.
  • Check for shorts between lines: With all sensors disconnected, measure resistance between sensor input pins at the main board. Very low resistance may indicate a harness short.
  • Repair or replace harness: If the cable is damaged, repair with proper insulated splices or replace the entire harness if available.
  • Replace main PCB if needed: If wiring and sensors are good but E13 persists, the sensor input circuitry on the main board may be defective.

Warning: Avoid cutting into insulated cabinet walls to trace wiring; you may damage refrigerant lines.
