Freezer door difficult to close or pops open shortly after closing.

Safety first: Ensure the freezer is stable and cannot tip while you adjust the door.

• Check for obstructions: Make sure baskets and food packages are not protruding and blocking the door.
• Inspect gasket: Look for twisted or deformed sections of the Candy door gasket. Warm the gasket gently with a hairdryer and reshape it by hand if needed.
• Adjust hinges: Tighten hinge screws and adjust the door so it sits squarely against the cabinet. Replace worn hinges if there is excessive play.
• Allow pressure to equalize: If the door is hard to reopen immediately after closing, wait a minute to allow internal pressure to normalize; this is often normal behavior.
• Test seal: Close the door on a strip of paper at several points around the gasket. If it pulls out easily, further hinge or gasket adjustment/replacement is needed.
