Safety first: Unplug the freezer before defrosting or cleaning.

• Defrost the freezer: Remove food to a cool place, unplug the Candy freezer, and leave the door open until all ice melts. Use towels to collect water; do not use sharp tools.
• Inspect door gasket: Check for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Clean the gasket and door frame with warm soapy water to improve sealing.
• Check door alignment: Ensure the door hinges are tight and the door closes evenly. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
• Test door switch: Make sure the interior light turns off when the door is closed. Replace the door switch if it fails, as it may affect defrost logic.
• Clear drain (no-frost models): If water pools under drawers, locate and clear the defrost drain hole behind the rear panel using warm water and a flexible plastic probe.
• Resume operation: Once dry and reassembled, plug the freezer back in and monitor for reduced frost buildup.

Warning: Do not use knives or screwdrivers to remove ice; you can puncture refrigerant lines or damage liners.
