Possible Causes
Blocked defrost drain hole, Frozen drain tube, Misaligned drain funnel, Cracked drain pan above compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing panels or working near the compressor.
- Identify leak source: Pull the Candy freezer away from the wall and inspect underneath and at the rear for water trails.
- Check drain pan: Ensure the plastic pan above the compressor is not cracked or overflowing. Clean it if dirty.
- Clear internal drain: Inside the freezer, remove drawers and the rear panel to access the evaporator area. Locate the small drain hole at the bottom and flush it with warm water using a turkey baster or syringe.
- Clear external drain tube: From the rear, locate the drain tube leading to the pan. Gently clear any blockage with warm water and a flexible plastic rod.
- Reassemble and test: After ensuring free water flow to the pan, reassemble panels, plug in the freezer, and monitor for leaks over the next day.
Warning: Do not use metal rods or excessive force in the drain; you may puncture internal components.
