Possible Causes
Faulty cabinet NTC sensor, Stuck thermostat (on mechanical models), Main control board not regulating correctly, Shorted sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing controls or sensors.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside the Candy freezer to confirm actual temperature versus set point.
- Adjust setting: Turn the temperature control to a warmer setting and monitor for 24 hours. If temperature does not change, the control system is faulty.
- Test NTC sensor: Access the cabinet sensor and measure its resistance at known temperatures. Replace if readings are out of specification.
- Check mechanical thermostat (if fitted): On older Candy freezers with a dial thermostat, test continuity across the thermostat terminals while adjusting the dial. Replace if it does not open/close correctly.
- Replace main control board: If sensors and thermostat are good but over-freezing persists, the main PCB may be misregulating and should be replaced.
Warning: Over-freezing wastes energy and can damage food quality; do not ignore persistent temperature control issues.
