Possible Causes
Failed touch sensor or membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Moisture ingress into control panel, Firmware lockup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before opening the control panel.
Steps to restore control panel function:
- 1. Attempt reset: Disconnect power for 10 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes this clears a firmware lockup.
- 2. Inspect control panel: Remove the fascia to access the user interface PCB and ribbon cable.
- 3. Reseat ribbon cable: Carefully unplug and reinsert the cable between the UI and main PCB, ensuring correct orientation.
- 4. Check for moisture: Dry any condensation or spills inside the panel. If corrosion is present, the UI PCB may need replacement.
- 5. Replace UI PCB: If specific buttons or the entire keypad remain unresponsive, fit a new Caple user interface board.
Note: After replacement, reconfigure any settings as per the user manual.
