Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: The control PCB carries mains voltage. Unplug the freezer before opening any control housing.
Steps to address E9:
- 1. Confirm stable power supply: Check that the wall socket and any extension leads are in good condition. Avoid sharing the outlet with high‑load appliances.
- 2. Power reset: Disconnect power for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect. If E9 reappears immediately, suspect PCB hardware.
- 3. Access the main control PCB: Typically located in a rear lower compartment or behind a top fascia. Remove the cover to expose the board.
- 4. Visual inspection: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or darkened areas around relays. Check for insect infestation or moisture damage.
- 5. Check connectors: Reseat all harness connectors to the PCB, ensuring firm contact and no bent pins.
- 6. Replace the PCB: If visible damage is present or E9 persists despite good connections and sensors, replace the main control PCB with the correct Caple part number. Transfer any jumper settings or wiring exactly as on the original.
Note: PCB repair at component level is not recommended for untrained users; replacement is the standard remedy.
