Caple
Inefficient Operation / Poor Insulation or Control Calibration
Freezer runs continuously and never cycles off, but temperature is acceptable

Possible Causes
Door gasket leaking cold air, Freezer installed in very warm environment, Thermostat or sensor slightly mis‑calibrated, Condenser partially blocked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning condenser or adjusting components.
Steps to reduce run time:
- 1. Clean condenser: Remove dust from rear coils and ensure good airflow.
- 2. Improve door seal: Check gasket with the paper test and replace if necessary.
- 3. Adjust setpoint: If the freezer is colder than needed, raise the set temperature slightly (e.g. from −22°C to −18°C).
- 4. Check ambient temperature: Avoid placing the freezer near ovens, radiators, or in unventilated cupboards.
Note: Some modern freezers run for long periods by design for efficiency, but they should still cycle off occasionally.
