Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Faulty touch control/display PCB, Moisture intrusion into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before opening the control panel housing.
How to troubleshoot E6:
- Inspect the control panel: Check for signs of moisture, condensation, or physical damage on the front display area.
- Remove the panel: Use a screwdriver to remove screws securing the display/control housing. Carefully pull it forward.
- Check the ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon or multi-wire harness connecting the display to the main board. Ensure it is fully inserted and not kinked or torn.
- Clean connectors: If accessible, gently clean the connector contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners on the PCB.
- Dry the area: If moisture is present, allow the panel and connectors to dry completely before reassembly.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the panel, restore power, and see if E6 clears and buttons respond.
- Replace display PCB if needed: If the error persists and the main board is known good, replace the Costway freezer display/control panel assembly.
Note: Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the control panel; spray onto a cloth instead to prevent future moisture damage.
