Possible Causes

Faulty internal power supply on main PCB, Loose AC input wiring, Undervoltage from wall outlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the rear control compartment. Use caution around mains wiring.

Steps to address E9:

  • Verify wall outlet: Plug another appliance or a voltage tester into the same outlet to confirm stable voltage. Avoid using extension cords or power strips.
  • Inspect power cord: Check the Costway freezer power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
  • Access main PCB: Remove the rear lower cover to expose the control board. Confirm the AC input connector is fully seated and wires are not loose.
  • Check for damage: Look for burnt traces, darkened areas, or bulging capacitors on the board, especially near the power supply section.
  • Reseat connectors: Unplug and replug the AC input and low-voltage output connectors to ensure good contact.
  • Test operation: Reinstall the cover, plug in the freezer, and see if E9 clears.
  • Replace main PCB if needed: If the outlet and cord are good but E9 persists, the internal power supply on the main board is likely faulty. Replace the board with the correct Costway freezer control module.

Note: Do not attempt to repair the power supply section at component level unless you are a qualified electronics technician.
