Freezer door is difficult to open immediately after closing; a vacuum effect is felt.

Safety: No electrical work is required. This is usually a normal condition.

Steps to manage door vacuum:

• Wait briefly: After closing the door, wait 30–60 seconds before reopening. The pressure will usually equalize.
• Check vent/port: Some models have a small pressure equalization port or valve. Ensure it is not blocked by packaging or ice.
• Inspect gasket: A very tight new gasket can increase vacuum. This typically eases with use.

Note: A temporary vacuum is normal and not a fault unless the door cannot be opened at all or the gasket is deformed.
