How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before tipping or removing rear panels. Water on the floor can be slippery; mop up spills promptly.
Steps to stop external leaks:
- Inspect around the unit: Determine if water is coming from the front (door area) or back (drain pan).
- Check drain pan: Remove the rear lower panel and locate the plastic drain pan under the compressor. Look for cracks or misalignment.
- Clear defrost drain: Inside the freezer, remove the rear interior panel and locate the drain hole at the bottom of the evaporator tray. Flush with warm water using a turkey baster or squeeze bottle until water flows freely into the pan.
- Clean debris: Remove any food particles or ice blocking the drain channel.
- Replace damaged pan: If the drain pan is cracked or warped, replace it with a compatible Costway drain pan.
Note: Avoid leaving the door open for long periods, as excessive frost melt can temporarily overflow the pan.
