Normal Pressure Equalization / Gasket Adhesion
Freezer door difficult to open right after closing; feels like it is stuck or vacuum-sealed.

Possible Causes
Rapid cooling of warm air creating vacuum, Strong new door gasket, Freezer slightly out of level causing door drag
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the door open with tools; you can damage the gasket or hinges.
Steps to ease door opening:
- Wait briefly: It is normal for the door to be harder to open for a minute or two after closing as internal pressure equalizes. Waiting often resolves the issue.
- Check level and alignment: Ensure the freezer is level and the door is not binding on the cabinet. Adjust leveling feet or hinge screws as needed.
- Gasket lubrication: Lightly wipe the gasket with a damp cloth and a small amount of food-safe silicone lubricant if it sticks to the cabinet.
- Vent feature: Some models have a small pressure relief port; ensure it is not blocked by packaging or ice.
Note: This condition is usually not a fault unless the door remains extremely difficult to open after several minutes.
